We stayed for 3 nights in mid-December 2020. The campsites aren’t laid out very well at all, but there are a handful of sights that were nice. The things to do in the area are GREAT! The weather was chilly, but we played 18 holes of golf and got in a few really nice hikes. Another fun place to camp in Alabama if you have a mountain bike. The showers were hot and although outdated, were clean. Park staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

Highly recommend this park. Our stay was during the pandemic and tornado warnings so it was cleared out by Easter Sunday. Loads of people came on a cool Saturday to hike and use the facilities that were open. People are friendly but noticed that they were gathering together in groups

Stayed there Feb 7-10 in a 27’ travel trailer (just missed the big rainstorm). What a great park! Paved roads and pads with full hookups and lots of space between sites. Lots of hiking and a great golf course nearby. Highly recommend.

We stayed in #B19 and were very happy with it. Site was level, water and electric were good, close to the restroom and shower, and quiet. This park has so much to offer.Aside from camping, there’s fishing, equestrian, archery, petting farm for children, Alabama wildlife rehabilitation center and interpretive center, nature boardwalk to view some of the rehabilitated raptors, paddleboat and canoe rentals, and miles of mountain biking trails. By the park headquarters building there is a huge pavilion area surrounded by the lakes as well as an ADA fishing boardwalk. Kudos to the park for that! The only downside to the park is that the restrooms in the B section are very old but clean and functional at least as far as the female restroom and shower. There is only one shower but there are several of the restroom/shower buildings throughout the campground. The showers are not wheelchair accessible.

We stayed for the month of Nov, 2018 in a 40 ft 5th wheel. We were in B26 fhu. Spot was level but had seen some use. Close to the bathroom, laundry and Pavilion. Bathrooms are dated but clean and very usable. Did not use shower or laundry. This is a Mountain bikers dream. Many trails, even a BMX track. Still lots of fall color and even caught a couple 8-10 lb catfish. Staff was always available and helpful. LP filling at camp shack. Weekends are busy, quiet during the week. Sites are set up in all directions, but spacious. Some are along the road so need to be careful with kids and animals. 30 amp only unless you are in the horse camp. You do need to time your excursions outside the park, the back gate closes at 6pm and the front at 9pm, I believe. All in all a great park and campground. Will definitely stay here again.

Very scenic park. Lots of trees nice shade. We are in section B, spot 60. Pretty level, close the bathhouse. I little pricey. $55 full hook up including sewer. Bath houses are in need of repair but some work has been done. We are just here for an overnight but it appears to be a nice park With a lot to offer

Not impressed! We were in the "B" section. Campsites were not well laid out. Some were not even close to being level. Although ours was not bad. The showers and bathrooms were deplorable. There were three seperate bath houses, each with only one lavatory and shower for male and female. Hardly adequate. Aside from that they were run down, dirty, in bad need of repair. Even though we had no sewer hookup we choose not to use the facilities due to their condition.
It's a pretty park with a lot to offer. However we wil likely not come back to camp. It's a shame this park has lots of potential.
Nice golf course!

Large campground with 1/2 dozen small bathhouses with one shower in each restroom - some of the bathhouses also have laundry facilities. Bathrooms have a lot of rust and are badly in need of refurbishment. RV sites in Loop A are significantly nicer than those in Loop B. The southern entrance is further from the Campground but open 24 hrs. The northern entrance road is very steep at points. The park overall is very nice with lots to do.

Very nice park. We camped here in a 38' motorhome. Can't wait to return.
