The camp has been restructured with fresh, level gravel and wood outlines making the sites a nice upgrade from the past visits. There’s no shortage of deer sightings. There’s nice trails all around the park including the Japanese Garden, which was a nice treat. There’s also a disc golf course (use your bright disc for this one). Cell service is non-existent, so if you are needing to work or have gamers in the family, this isn’t ideal for you. The tall timbers, while being majestically beautiful swaying to and fro, will block Starlink. If you have a cell booster, that might help, but I can’t attest to that. If you are looking to disconnect and embrace nature, this is the place. There’s 2 ways to get up the mountain. Governors Dr is the best route for RV, but if you drop down the other side of the mountain towards Pratt, you will land in a quaint little area called 5points with shopping, laundry, food, HSV shipping, banks, parts store, etc… I will say the pricing is a bit steep for not having full hookups at every site and lacking amenities, but the staff is great and the park is beautiful.

Great campground and staff. Verizon cell service bad. Camped there 7 nights. Bad cell service made it feel like a lifetime.

Very nice and peaceful. Good shady spots. Bathrooms were decent. Use Governors Drive to get there! Google or Apple Maps may tell you to take Pratt Ave.

Very nice park with semi level sites - did not find a laundry as mentioned but part of the park was closed for winter - we had two bars of att and was able to utilize it

Spacious sites, decent bathrooms. Hot showers, heated facilities. Great hiking (especially stone cuts trail). Nice views looking over Huntsville. Cons: little more attention to cleaning and keeping up on maintenance (light bulbs out, etc ) Overall a good place to stay .

Great site with no issues getting in. I pulled a 20’ camper and set it up with very little leveling. Good trails.

Lovely state park in Huntsville. Very shady, good separation between sites, several hiking trails. Mostly level sites. Only one shower building with one washer/dryer, but quite clean. Friendly staff. Plenty to see in local area, Space and Science center, Guntersville lake to the south. Quiet park. Also has 18 hole disc golf and Japanese garden.

Beautiful area to enjoy nature. Lots of hiking trails and a great overlook. If I you have fat tire bike there are trails for you. Space between sites and quiet this time of year.
