Good area to take rest for a South to North trip. Free functional RV dump. Just about exit the truck route and you would find a sign for RV dump.

Oct 2019: My second review in two months. The conditions at this rest area are worse than last month. THE RV DUMP IS NOW NONFUNCTIONAL. Potable freshwater remains functional. The dump waste inlet drain pipe is blocked somewhere deeper than U could probe for a blockage with a 4-foot 2芒鈧漻2芒鈧 piece of wood. RVs have been dumping black waste into the concrete basin surrounding the waste inlet and leaving the pool to eventually trickle drain and/or dry out. The conditions of the entire rest area as described in my previous review of Sept 2019 apply, only more so. There are signs in the area stating the maintenance is by 芒鈧揃ARC芒鈧 of Bakersfield, California. There is no contact info anywhere. Whoever or whatever 芒鈧揃ARC芒鈧 is, their arrangement to provide anything should be terminated and the same for whoever should have been monitoring their involvement. It芒鈧劉s not only disgusting but shameful.

Sept 2019: This rest area gets very limited maintenance and very high use. Most of the area is not landscaped or irrigated. There are almost no green grassy lawn areas. The view from above in most mapping apps must be from the one month a year when it rains enough for the weeds and thorn bushes to turn green. The pet area is a weedy, thorny, dusty, trash and dog poop filled patch of open space not fit to make your worst enemy walk through barefoot (like a dog must). That said the RV dump station is reasonably well designed and useable. The waste inlet is set below surrounding ground in a concrete apron edged by a low concrete curb (about 1 inch high). The edge is a minor inconvenience because it may create a small hump in your drain hose, depending on how you set up your drain pipe. There is rinse water provided. There is also potable freshwater from a spigot about 50 feet forward of the waste inlet. The spigot has standard hose threads and ample water pressure. The spigot, unlike many at California State Hwy dump stations I芒鈧劉ve visited, does not have a spring loaded faucet, meaning it only takes one person at this dump station to use the spigot since it stays on by itself until someone turns it off. The rest area was quiet at night except for constant traffic noise from the nearby highway.
